Kirk C. Davis

Kirk started his own practice after working as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Seattle. Kirk practices in the areas of Criminal Defense, Land Use, and Personal Injury. He is a graduate of Vassar College and the George Washington University School of Law.

Kirk is admitted to practice in the State of Washington and the federal Western District of Washington.

Criminal Law Experience

Kirk was one of two prosecutors selected to litigate all complex and high profile criminal cases for the City of Seattle Attorney's Office. He successfully prosecuted hundreds of DUI and other misdemeanor cases. The City Attorney also assigned Kirk to work as a Community Liaison to the North Precinct of the Seattle where he helped eliminate long term problems for the neighbors in the north end of the City. Kirk was appointed to act as a Special Deputy for the King County Prosecutor's Office and assigned to prosecute a fraud case and a case involving intimidation of a judge.

As a Deputy Prosecutor for Yakima County Prosecutor's Office, Kirk progressed from district court to juvenile court and then to handling special assault cases in Superior Court. Kirk successfully litigated one of the first "two strikes" cases in the state of Washington for a charge of Rape in the First Degree.

In his career, Kirk has successfully handled criminal cases ranging from negligent driving to murder in the first degree. He tried hundreds of misdemeanors including DUI, Reckless Driving, and Negligent Drivng in Municipal Courts and District Courts. He tried a dozen felony cases in Superior Court. He argued cases before the Court of Appeals.

Civil Law Experience

As an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Seattle, Kirk handled disputes over commercial leases. He successfully litigated an unlawful detainer action including argument at the Court of Appeals.

Kirk was one of three attorneys assigned to handle code enforcement cases for the City of Seattle's Department of Planning and Development. He handled over a hundred land use cases.

Kirk was responsible for all of the drug forfeitures for the City of Seattle. He successfully litigated hundreds of drug forfeiture cases in administrative hearings and he filed dozens of real property drug forfeiture cases.

Kirk is experienced in handling liquor license cases before Administrative Law Judges. He successfully handled liquor license cases involving taverns and nightclubs.

Personal

Kirk is married and lives in Seattle. He was born in Seattle and attended high school at University Prep Academy. After high school, he went to the east coast for college and law school before returning to Seattle to practice law. His interests include boating, skiing, and the Seattle Seahawks.
